2018 Interschool Swimming Carnival

What an incredible day it was.  Our participants swam their hearts out, cheered loudly and behaved admirably. Safety Bay was one of four schools in “A” division (with the “B” division carnival held on the same day).

The children who participated swam as well as they could and did themselves and their school proud. In actual fact, they swam so well, that our school finished as the overall WINNERS with a huge winning margin!!

The final results were:

1st:  Safety Bay - 323

2nd: Port Kennedy - 154

4th:  Rockingham Beach - 100

3rd:  Charthouse - 105

As well as this amazing team effort, we had a large number of individual champions and runners up. The following children were successful:

Yr 4 Boy Champion – Ryen C15

Yr 5 Boy Champion – Joshua C17
Yr 5 Girl Champion – Abbi C19                                                          Yr 5 Boy Runner Up – Bodhi C16

Yr 6 Boy Champion – Luke C21

A big thank you needs to go to Nicole Sainsbury and Sharon Young who volunteered their time to help train our children before school for a number of sessions beforehand.  This training really makes a difference to the children’s fitness and helps so much with the building of team morale and support.

Thank you to Mr Springett who had the difficult job of place judging on the day, Miss Sainsbury who was the starter and Mrs Young who assisted in the bay all day. Also, thank you very much to the parents who came along to support all of our children today.
